SOUL-WINNING / EVANGELISM
- Soul winning is the act of convincing an unbeliever (non-christian) to 1. believe and accept that a. Jesus Christ is the son of the living God b.who was sent by God to come and die for our sins on the cross, c.died for us, d.went to hell for us, e.defeated the devil and the cohorts of hell for us f. took from the devil the keys of death for us g. and God raised him back to life for us and h. he ascended to heaven for us and i.now seated at the right hand of God for us; 2. Confesses with his/her mouth that, Jesus Christ is the Lord of his/her life and that, he/she is born again and now a child of God (Romans 10:9-10).
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).
Soul winners are precious and influential people in the sight of God. As a child of God, nothing should mean more to you than leading those in your world who have not yet known the Lord into salvation. This is something you must take very seriously this year, more than ever before. 2 Corinthians 5:19 says, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
God has committed to you the ministry of reconciliation; not only did He call you into the fellowship of His Son Jesus (1 Corinthians 1:9), He’s also called you to partner with Him in soul winning. In Romans 12:11 we’re admonished not to be slothful in business, but to be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. It’s talking about being fervent in God’s number one business, which is soul winning.

You will experience even more success and progress this year as you engage in soul-winning and soul-winning activities. People are God’s greatest assets on earth. You are involved in God’s asset building by winning people for Jesus. The Lord is always reaching out to the unsaved, to touch their lives with His power and glory; but He can only do so through you. Therefore, you must always be passionate about soul winning.
To be effective as a soul winner, you must see beyond your present circumstances; you must see beyond every limitation and refuse anything obstructing your view in this great responsibility. Get rid of all distracting influences and fervently serve the Lord as a soul winner this year. It’s your purpose for being. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:16, “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!”
Keep sharing the Gospel with those in your sphere of contact; it’s the right thing to do, and it’s what God demands.
3 Important Facts For A Soul Winner.
…he that winneth souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30).
As Christians, we’re all in the ministry of reconciliation; we’re called to win souls. As soul winners, there’re certain requirements necessary for an effective ministry in leading men to Christ.
First is clarity; clarity of the message that you preach. You must first understand the message of Christ for yourself. This is because you can’t communicate to someone else something you don’t understand. Because you can’t bless someone else with something that you haven’t been blessed with. You can only give what you have; and so, a good understanding of the Gospel is imperative.
Secondly, conviction; there has to be an absolute conviction in your spirit about Christ and the salvation that He brought for the whole world. You must become fully persuaded of His message, of His person, and of His mission.
The Apostle Paul in Romans 1:16 expressed a profound note of conviction. He said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth….” His persuasion was absolute: there’s no other way for salvation except Jesus Christ! There are no options.

He also said, “…for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16). You can only make such a statement when you’re fully persuaded; when you know without an iota of doubt that the only way to life and for life is Jesus Christ, who is Himself LIFE.
Thirdly, possession! As a soul winner, you must have full possession of truth. It's not enough to be convinced of something. That truth must become yours.
The Lord Jesus said in John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” The one who believes is a possessor. You must be in possession of the truth that, as a soul winner, you have eternal life. That’s what you’re dispensing to others. You’re “living” eternal life now.
Arm yourself with these truths as you go about your soul-winning work. This will make you a more effective minister of reconciliation.
PRAYER
Holy Father, thank you for equipping me with this important information on how to be a successful soul winner. I receive your instructions with meekness and thanksgiving. I declare that my soul-winning efforts are taken to a new and higher level of glory, success, and productivity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
