CHRISTIANITY & RELIGION
There are many definitions of Christianity we can elucidate or sort out from the Word of God in the New Testament. However, it is very important to note that: CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A RELIGION
Christianity is a Father and a child Relationship with God and this is not a religion. And just as your relationship with your earthly parents isn’t a religion, your relationship with God isn’t a religion. Christianity isn’t a religion at all; it’s the pulsating life of God in a human being. Christianity is Christ alive in you; it’s a relationship. In Christianity, you have the divine life of God, and you’re in an everlasting fellowship with Him.
However, there is a religion in Christianity, referencing James 1:27 "visiting the fatherless and widows and helping them in their need and afflictions". That is all the religion in Christianity but Christianity itself is not a religion and Jesus Christ is not a religious leader. it’s the pulsating life of God in a human being. In addition, religion cannot save and give everlasting life to anybody. As believers, we obviously share some semblances with some religious groups of the world. We believe in God and talk about Him; many religious groups also do the same. They gather to worship and pray the same way we do in church. These similarities have therefore caused a lot of people to misconstrue Christianity as another religion.
And the Bible says He (Jesus ) is above all things; He’s the head of all principality and power, and He lives in you.
